my computer had a virus, so my friend did a system restoration or whatever and set it back a few months for a quick fix.
since then, mozilla firefox isn’t working, but ie works and i downloaded google chrome and am now using that.
i just wanted my bookmarks from firefox, so if there’s a way to get firefox to work or to recover those bookmarks, that would be splendid.

Reinstall it and get off google, it reports your activities to home base.
go to chrome and click import and you will get an option to import from firefox and this will resolve your issue
1. Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
2. Select Bookmarks.
3. Select Import Bookmarks and Settings.
4. Select the application that contains the settings you’d like to import.
5. Make sure that only the checkboxes for items you want to import are selected.
6. Click Import.
